"My experience with Leticia Shapiro in preparing our families estate planning documents was well above my expectations. She has given us peace of mind knowing all bases are covered. She listens and works with you to design a thorough customized plan. This is not a typical cookie cutter estate plan we formerly had that left us vulnerable and was outdated. I highly endorse Leticia Shapiro who is a pleasure to work with especially with the difficult discussions during the entire process. She truly cares and ensures your legacy is fully protected!"

About Leticia L. Shapiro JD, LLM

My path to practicing estate planning, no-conflict divorce, and LGBTQ+ family law is rooted in my life experiences and is truly my heart and soul’s work.  We all have a story behind our “Why.”  As a child, I experienced limited education and financial resources, and witnessed family members be rendered helpless or even die due to cultural, educational, language, and financial barriers.  These experiences drove me to go to law school so that I could arm myself with the skills to advocate for families who deserve better.  I pride myself in forming warm , trusting, and long-lasting relationships with my clients, helping them build and protect their families.  I come from an amazing family who taught me that “Family Is Everything.”  At Sydnor Shapiro PLLC – You Are Family

About Veneta L. Sydnor, JD

Becoming a lawyer was a calling for me after my brother was sentenced to life.  There is an old adage that goes, “A man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client,” but for me, I wanted to create my own adage that goes, “A man who has his sister as his lawyer, has the best advocate money can’t buy.”

For years I experienced the pain of having my brother incarcerated while he fought for and maintained his innocence.  The unsuccessful appeals and parole hearings, financial strain, and most importantly the devastating emotional affect it had on our entire family was the catalyst for completing law school and becoming licensed to practice law in two states.  I figured if there wasn’t an attorney out there who would listen to my brother and fight for him with everything they had, then I was going to become that attorney.

Today, I am a licensed attorney in North Carolina and Maryland, devoting my career to keeping people out of jail and helping those in jail find a way to recovery and/or re-entry.  I am no stranger to the devastating effects a criminal law journey has on families, so I decided to dedicate my life to helping people who have been or are on that same journey.
